Director of IT

Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Director of IT to oversee all IT functions in our organization. In this role, you will direct and manage the team responsible for the organization’s global technology operations. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, has a strong technical aptitude, and can manage projects and people effectively. Ultimately, the successful candidate will plan for and maintain an effective and secure technology environment that allows for the organization to operate smoothly.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and oversee all IT operations and infrastructure
  • Evaluate and adjust key initiatives to ensure we meet established IT goals
  • Develop, manage, and educate employees on IT policies, software, and systems
  • Identify, procure, and manage vendor contracts for software and hardware needs
  • Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
  • Minimize and manage organizational risk associated with information technology
  • Ensure employees have access and are compliant to necessary systems and technology
  • Coordinate multi-site IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and execute on those needs
  • Lead and supervise all employees in the IT department
  • Ensure reported issues and Help Desk tickets are resolved in a timely manner

What we need

  • Proven experience as IT Director or similar role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, security, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications to support the organization’s goals
  • Experience in developing and controlling an IT budget
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities

Where you’ve been

  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
  • Proof of continued education, such as software certifications, is desirable
  • At least three years of experience managing an IT department
