Media Planner
FULL TIME | FARGO, DULUTH or KANSAS CITY, MO
The Media Planner is responsible for developing strategic plans using various media channels for marketing campaigns on our professional services team. They will analyze digital and traditional marketing metrics, collaborate with clients to refine marketing objectives, and distribute content to the most practical media platforms.
What you’ll do
- Ensure advertising channels align with client or company objectives and create or recommend certain media strategies to ensure campaigns reach their target audience in the most effective way possible
- Monitor the performance of digital and traditional campaigns and report results to relevant stakeholders
- Research the current media landscape and keep up to date with the latest media trends
- Determine the most suitable media mix given the nature of each client’s business, budget and preferred advertising media, and assess the impact and suitability of each media type based on client needs
- Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs, wants and objectives, and then determine which media channels fit best for each specific campaign
- Build and maintain relationships with media vendors across North America
Where you’ve been
- Proven experience as a Media Planner or similar role in media planning and buying, preferably in an advertising agency
- Strong knowledge of a range of digital and traditional platforms
- Ability to use a variety of programmatic platforms, advertising analytics tools, databases, and spreadsheets to track and manage campaigns. Proficiency in MediaOcean buying software and tools is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to network
- Analytical thinking, negotiation, persuasion and research abilities
- Effective at working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
