The right creative for digital mediums

Addressing behavioral health through strong parenting

When it comes to preventing behavioral-health related issues, such as underage drinking, anxiety or depression, healthy bonding and attachment between parents and children goes a long way. Simply put, parenting is powerful.

That was the message behind our work with the North Dakota Department of Human Services to reframe its prevention program, Parents Lead, as a behavioral health resource for parents, caregivers and communities. Previously, the program had focused on underage drinking and substance misuse.

Work included key messages, a community implementation toolkit, social media management, paid media services and creative development.

The right approach for the medium

Our media buy allowed us to efficiently reach our audience across digital mediums, from Instagram to Spotify to Snapchat.

That meant our creative approach needed to be flexible and adaptable for a variety of spaces. For example, it had to work as well on Facebook with the sound off as it did in a space like Spotify that’s primarily audio. In all, we created nearly 30 versions and sizes of video to flex to each medium.

Our concept played off the name by communicating all the ways “parents lead.” It was a simple, yet powerful approach that allowed us to tell a story through text, images and sound.
